Upgrades and Retrofits

Thermal Oxidizer UpgradeUpgrades and Retrofits

With the high costs of a new Thermal Oxidizers or Industrial Ovens and associated equipment, the opportunity to purchase a previously owned, rebuilt, or the relocation of a system may be an attractive option for many businesses. As a leader in the air pollution industry with 2 centuries of combined experience building and maintaining oxidation equipment, to assist with any equipment service needs, including upgrades and retrofits to all types of pollution control systems, regardless of the manufacturer. Some of the advantages include lower energy costs, improved VOC destruction efficiencies, increased product throughput, and reduced emissions of other pollutants (e.g. NOx, CO2). Various options are available and typical projects include installing a higher efficiency heat exchanger, adding variable frequency drives to fans, improving process flow and distribution, integrating secondary heat recovery, balancing combustion systems, etc.

Although environmental regulations or production requirements required the initial installation of your VOC oxidation or processing equipment, the primary factor today is economics. An upgrade or replacement project should involve a financial return analysis to determine its financial feasibility. Most retrofit packages see a financial return between 1 and 2 years through reduced operating costs. In some cases, cost sharing funds are available through local utilities and other state and federal agencies for upgrading or replacing energy intensive equipment with energy efficient systems. In addition some areas may qualify to market carbon credits earned by the reduction of VOCs.

Thermal Oxidizer and Industrial Oven technology, operating costs, and performance have improved over the past few years.  Older systems can be replaced with newer, more energy efficient less space consuming units that free up needed manufacturing space. Gulf Coast Environmental Systems focuses on insuring that your equipment is operating at optimum efficiency and productivity, so that you can focus on your core business.
